The University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR) seeks to fill the position
of Director of Student Recruitment. The director will provide leadership for undergraduate student recruitment,
manage the recruitment budget, and provide information concerning applicable admissions policies to
prospective students and families. The position includes co-leading the CAFNR Ambassador Team. The director
is expected to project an effective and consistent image of CAFNR and the University by working with MU Office
of Admissions, high school teachers and administrators, and community colleges to create partnerships to
recruit students into the college’s 14 degree programs.

The goal of Gardiner Angus Ranch’s internship program is to increase the knowledge and ability of undergraduate students in ranch management and marketing of purebred cattle, and to enhance their potential to become leaders in the livestock industry.

GAR is seeking student interns from land grant universities. Applicants should be junior or senior undergraduate students with a background or major related to animal agriculture. Applications for the spring 2023 internship are due October 15, 2022. Applications for the fall 2023 internship are due March 15, 2023. Submission of all application materials via email is preferred.

The Missouri Pork Association’s Internship Program involves off-campus training to develop personal, organizational and public relations skills and experience. Written reports required.

Prerequisites:
Junior standing and advisor’s consent.

Additional Requirements:
The student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 and completed at least two years (four semesters) of college courses, demonstrated maturity and sincerity towards the program, and be deemed acceptable by both MPA and the cooperating college.

Objectives:
Provide educational experiences which are directly related to curricula and student’s goals.
Develop student awareness of employment demands, responsibilities and opportunities.
Provide potential career experiences with an opportunity for continuing formal education.
Provide an opportunity for the student to apply principles and techniques learned in the classroom to problem-solving situations in order to gain a better understanding of the decision-making and implementing process.

Compensation/Credit Hours:
Spring & Fall Semester Interns – Each intern will be paid $360 on the 15th and last day of each month for the internship period. This is based on working an average of 15 hours per week. Adjustments may be made to the payment schedule at the discretion of MPA if the full pay period is not worked. MPA will work with the student and their advisor to secure credit hours if it is so desired.

Summer Semester Intern – The summer intern is a full time position (40 hours per week). The intern will receive $1,000 on the 15th and last day of each month during the internship period. Adjustments may be made to the payment schedule at the discretion of MPA if the full pay period is not worked. MPA will work with the student and their advisor to secure credit hours if it is so desired.

If credit hours are being applied for, students will be evaluated and graded by the MPA, in coordination with such other university parties who may be involved.

Procedure:
Eligible students will file an application with the MPA, plus include three letters of recommendation, by November 2, 2022.

The MPA will review the applications, conduct interviews, and make selections by December 2, 2022.

A student whose application has been approved will work with the MPA and his or her faculty advisor to work out the internship, including a plan of action, timetable and financial arrangements.
Student intern will be reimbursed for lodging and travel expenses in accordance with MPA policy. The student intern will not be an employee, nor be covered by MPA insurance.

Duties
Conducts interviews with loan applicants, reviews loan applications, and makes preliminary inquiries to develop factual information to assess the eligibility of applicants. Providing technical advice, guidance, and credit counseling to loan applicants and borrowers. Has delegated loan approval authority to approve loans within a specific limit. Applies knowledge of agency farm loan programs and eligibility requirements. Applies technical knowledge of farm financing and credit, financial management concepts and practices, farm operations, land use and value, production and marketing of various crops and livestock, and prices and markets in the serviced farming areas. This position works in a developmental capacity receiving on-the-job and classroom training in the administration of farm loan programs. These positions assist the Farm Loan Manager in administering farm loan programs in a USDA Service Center serving one or more Counties. Upon completion of training program, FLOs may be reassigned, at any time, to a different duty station if workload activity changes or vacancies occur.

Education
