✨Sister Spotlight✨ Our president, Kaylee Williams, spent part of her Christmas break on a mission trip in Peru, a place that is very close to her heart. God is using her in amazing ways to do wonderful things for these kids! Hear about her experience below👇🏼
“This December, I had the privilege of serving on a second mission trip to Iquitos, Peru, with Go Love - a non-profit organization that provides a home, education, and much-needed love to abandoned children. In Iquitos, 1 in 12 children experience the trauma of abandonment. Go Love currently runs two homes and cares for a total of 17 children, ranging in age from 5 months to 12 years old. The mission team and I brought Christmas gifts from the States and helped to organize and wrap them for all of the kids. We also brought Christmas crafts, such as gingerbread houses, Christmas cookies, and ornaments. Watching the sweet kiddos experience these seemingly traditional Christmas activities - many for the first time - was truly humbling and joyful. In addition to fostering these meaningful relationships with the Go Love kids, we also spent time working to clean a new house that will be utilized by Go Love next year.
Overall, this mission trip was a wonderful and unforgettable experience. I was able to dive deep into fellowship with the kids and my team, simply watching God do His amazing work. It is evident that every person, no matter their age, longs to find purpose and to be loved. At Go Love’s homes, Jesus’ pure and unfailing love for His children is evident. Through audacious faith, God works through ordinary people to fulfill His extraordinary purpose for our lives. The joy exuding from the children is a beautiful depiction of His provision and how He turns mourning to dancing.
I am forever grateful to SAO for supporting this passion of mine and making an impact on children in Peru. A piece of my heart will always remain in Iquitos with its wonderful people, and I hope to return very soon!”
