Columbus is located in south-central Indiana, approximately 45 minutes south of Indianapolis and 60 minutes north of Louisville along I-65. Columbus is widely known as a destination for architecture and art, which are two of the areas Freemasons are taught to appreciate and emulate.

This Saturday will be a workday starting at 8 AM until no later than noon. We have 2 trees that need to be cut up that are already down which are just east of our parking lot and worst-case scenario we will stack the wood up if we have no trailers to haul it off. We need anyone that can bring a chainsaw, please do so. Bring you a pair of work gloves . We have to get this done so the mowing can begin

The Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis invites you to our first "Rite on the Road" event of 2026 at St. Johns Lodge on Thursday, January 29th, at 6:00 p.m.

If you're not already a Scottish Rite member, this is a wonderful opportunity to join and begin your Scottish Rite journey. Please reach out to Dirk Rader for a Scottish Rite petition. The registration fee to join is $150, and there will be no additional costs until the fall of 2027 for your 2028 calendar year dues.

On Saturday, April 19th, we had a wonderful day at St. Johns Lodge #20 with the raising of Brother Bryce Tekulve to the sublime degree of a Master Mason.
Bryce is a Past Master Councilor of Yorkrite DeMolay (Columbus, IN) and a Past State Master Councilor of Indiana DeMolay.
Bryce's dad, Bobby Tekulve, conferred the degree and is also a Past State Master Councilor. His grandfather was also in attendance, as well as Most Worshipful Brother David G Morgan, Grand Master of Masons in Indiana and Past Grand Master Carl Culmann. Numerous other distinguished Brothers & Senior DeMolay's attended.
It was a great day for St. Johns Lodge & Indiana Freemasonry.

Wilford "Bud" Lutes ~
September 27, 1936 - October 15, 2024

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Worshipful Brother Wilford (Bud) Lutes, one of our esteemed Past Masters of St. Johns Lodge No. 20 (Columbus, IN).

Our Heavenly Father has welcomed him into his eternal resting place, in that house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. Brother Bud dedicated over 58 years to our fraternity, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. He departed this life on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

We wish to share the arrangements for Wilford “Bud” Lutes as follows:

On Monday, October 21, 2024, there will be a family-only viewing from Noon to 1:00 PM, followed by a time for friends to offer their condolences between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM. The memorial services for the Amaranth and Masonic Lodge will commence at 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service. All events will take place at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home, 3855 25th Street, Columbus, IN 47203.

Let us all come together to honor his memory and support one another during this difficult time. Please keep Lady Jennie and his family in your thoughts & prayers.

It was a GREAT day for Scottish Rite Freemasonry and the Valley of Indianapolis with 23 Brothers/ Candidates receiving their 32nd Degree.
The membership class was named in honor of the Illustrious Marion Keith Crum, 33° and the late Illustrious Frank Eugene Capler, 33°, MSA.
Overall we had 90 Brothers present for a wonderful day of fun, food, fellowship & learning.
Many thanks to our Bartholomew County Scottish Rite Club and St. Johns Lodge for hosting this event.
