The OSU Meteorology Club was founded in 1995 as an organization to bring together students in the Geography Department’s growing Atmospheric Science program. The club’s sole purpose has been to provide a fun, relaxed “atmosphere” while providing opportunities for its members to learn more about the meteorological career field and to network through interacting with local meteorologists. Our main c
lub activities include biweekly meetings, a monthly activity, fundraising events, and the Annual Severe Weather Symposium in March. Meeting attendance is not required but we urge members to try to attend each meeting so they can stay up-to-date on all activities. We are looking forward to hosting several guests throughout the year to discuss their different career positions in the meteorological field. For example, in October we went to the Haunted Hoochie House, in December we went ice-skating, and we also toured the Wilmington National Weather Service, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OSU’s Byrd Polar Research Center,
