On June 15th, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Professor Jin Wang, Research Scientist Pengyu Fu and fellow academic team members were awarded the First-Place Prize Paper Award by the IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics (JESTPE). For their paper entitled, ““2-kV 1-MW 20000-r/min Integrated Modular Motor Drive for Electrified Aircraft Propulsion.”

Sanjay Krishna has been appointed senior associate vice president for Innovation and Strategic Ventures within the Enterprise for Research, Innovation and Knowledge. Krishna's appointment coincides with reorganization to better serve faculty innovators. He will officially start July 1st.

Under Krishna’s leadership, Ohio State will continue to build a robust, forward-looking innovation ecosystem that empowers researchers, accelerates discovery and delivers meaningful benefits to society.

“I’m incredibly enthusiastic about this next chapter for innovation at Ohio State,” said John M. Congratulations to Burn Jeng Lin, PhD, and Sue Huang Lin Endowed Electrical and Computer Engineering Professor Joel Johnson for his prestigious Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (IEEE GRSS) Golden Florin Award, honoring his contributions to research in microwave remote sensing.

Professor Johnson’s distinguished career spans over 35 years, with much of his research focused on microwave remote sensing of geophysical media, both active and passive, as well as the application of numerical techniques in electromagnetics to remote sensing problems.

The Golden Florin Award celebrates individuals who have made outstanding contributions to research in Passive Microwave Remote Sensing throughout their career. The Award includes an exact gold reproduction of the old golden florin, the coin first minted in Italy by the Florentine Republic in 1252, and a certificate.
