OPENING: FRI 4/22 5PM : HOLOFEST Exhibition
SMITH LAB ROOM 006

The Spring 2016 HoloFest Exhibition will take place in Smith Lab room 006. The show opens on Friday Apr 22 at 5pm and runs until Monday Apr 25. The HoloFest Exhibition is hosted by the OSU Holography Club and consists of OSU student and visiting artist holographic art works. As part of the Exhibition Boston holographer Betsy Connors will give a talk on her recent holographic work on Friday Apr 22 at 3pm and NY
holographer Sam Moree will give a talk on his recent work on Monday Apr 25 at 4pm. Refreshments will be provided on Friday evening.

Matt Morris is an artist, writer, and sometimes curator based in Chicago. Morris is a transplant from southern Louisiana who holds a BFA from the Art Academy of Cincinnati, and earned an MFA in Art Theory + Practice from Northwestern University, as well as a Certificate in Gender + Sexuality Studies. Recent curatorial efforts have been presented at Western Exhibitions and The Hills Esthetic Center in Chicago, IL. He is a lecturer at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago who teaches in the Sculpture as well as the Painting and Drawing departments. He is a contributor to Artforum.com, ARTnews, Art Papers, Flash Art, Newcity, and Sculpture; and his writing appears in numerous exhibition catalogues and artist monographs.

EXHIBITION OPENING: FRI 4/8 4:30-5:30PM Hopkins Hall

The exhibition is part of a multifaceted project funded by a Ronald and Deborah Ratner Distinguished Teaching Award that addresses how Plato's myths may be used to investigate the role of the artist at the contemporary university. Additional support for related events is made possible by a Public Celebration Grant from the Humanities and the Arts Discovery Theme.

Bonnie Collura received her BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1994 and her MFA from Yale University in 1996. Currently, Bonnie Collura is working on a sculptural and video installation entitled, White Light with the assistance of a Penn State College of Arts and Architecture Faculty Research Grant as well as a textile and sculpture based project entitled Imperceptible Rupture. Imperceptible Rupture, assisted by a Penn State Institute for the Arts and Humanities Individual Faculty Grant, consists of several wearable, fused-form shells built for the “folded composite body”.
Collura is currently an Associate Professor at Penn State, teaching in the Sculpture Department.

The April 1, 2016 campus-wide Black Life Matters in the Classroom Symposium will integrate arts, humanities, social and political science perspectives to make visible and value Black life in Ohio and beyond through scholarly lectures, pedagogy workshops, an art exhibition, spoken word performances, and community engagement. Specifically, the symposium will work toward the development of inclusive and anti-racist educational imperatives, policies, and pedagogies.

libi rose striegl (MFA, Duke) is an artistic omnivore. She is interested in function, failure, technoculture, hacker culture, science in art, neuroscience, disability studies, neurodiversity, multiple knowledge modalities. She makes interactive installations, single-channel animations, games, internet toys, hacked hardware objects, printed material in 2 and 3 dimensions, and various other detritus and ephemera. The practice is in the process, the medium is mutable.
