It's hard being hard! While most college students were sleeping-in Friday morning; 35 CSU Army ROTC Cadets, represented by every MS level, were competing to earn the Norwegian Foot March, or Marsjmerket, a Norwegian armed forces skill badge that is earned. Participants had to complete, in uniform with boots, an 18.6 mile (30 kilometers) ruck march within 4 hours and 30 minutes while carrying a 25-pound (11 kilograms) rucksack. Awesome turn-out and effort!!

Future Cougars Take Flight at CSU Junior ROTC Open House!

7 outstanding JROTC programs from local high schools joined us for an action-packed day at the CSU ROTC Open House!
They kicked things off with a challenging PT squad competition, showcasing their teamwork and dedication. Next, they explored campus, touring relevant academic departments based on their future college aspirations. The day wrapped up with informative presentations highlighting everything CSU ROTC has to offer, from academics to student life. Thank you to all the JROTC cadets who joined us! We were inspired by your enthusiasm and potential.

There is something incredibly empowering about knowing you can find your way no matter what the terrain⛰ throws at you. Last week, Cougar Battalion navigated our way through the crawl, walk, and run phases day and night land navigation skills. Thursday’s Lab was spent going through practical exercises, refreshing some minds, and teaching new skills to others. Friday, we hit boots to the ground on Fort Moore, running our super lab giving all MS levels an opportunity to train. We got to see extraordinary improvements and true perseverance. Nobody has it better than us.

"Columbus State University ROTC Cadets are proud to embody the values of scholars, athletes, and leaders while positively impacting our community. This weekend, we joined forces with the CSU Student Veteran Association to collaborate with the nonprofit organization House of Heros. Together, we dedicated our time and efforts to enhance the living conditions of a well-deserving Veteran in the Fort Moore community who required support in maintaining his home.

Our commitment to service extends beyond the classroom and training environment, and it's our privilege to honor those who paved the way for us. By working together, we are truly making a difference in the lives of our veterans.
