Congratulations to Carolyn Gunther, PhD, RDN, LD, FASN, on receiving a $10,000 seed grant from the Office of Outreach and Engagement.

Her project, in partnership with Laura Robertson-Boyd and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s Healthy Community Center, will refine and deliver a nutrition and culinary education program for Community Health Workers to address their food and nutrition needs, and in turn, strengthen their impact in the marginalized communities they serve.

We’re proud to celebrate Michael Ackerman, PhD, RN, FCCM, FNAP, FAANP, FAAN, who will be receiving the 2026 AACN Pioneering Spirit Award — one of the highest honors presented by American Association of Critical-Care Nurses — at the 2026 National Teaching Institute & Critical Care Exposition in San Diego on May 17-20.

This prestigious recognition honors his groundbreaking contributions to healthcare innovation, critical care nursing and leadership. As director of the Master of Healthcare Innovation program and the Center for Healthcare Innovation and Leadership at The Ohio State University College of Nursing, Dr. Ackerman continues to transform nursing education and practice through visionary thinking, research and collaboration.
