This past we wanted to recognize new member Maddie Williams for taking initiative within our chapter and her own community to make positive change. She says, “the past few months I’ve been really focused on educating myself and giving my voice and platform to people who truly need the attention. I think we tend to get so swept up in our own lives and the small things that make us so worried and preoccupied, however, I have found that fighting for the unheard goes hand in hand with loving everyone despite our differences. If I were experiencing the disproportional consequences of this deeply embedded separation and oppression, I would hope that I wouldn’t be fighting alone. We only have one planet to share, why tear it down in fear of your neighbor? I hope we can eventually reconcile our differences and celebrate everyone’s culture for what it is and how it makes us who we are.“ You’re passion is contagious, Maddie! 🖤
