Ordination Season Update!
We are pleased to share that our first alumnus of 2026 this past Saturday was ordained to the priesthood. Congratulations Father Zachary Goodchild! Your smile and warm disposition while you were in seminary here lit up the halls of the House of Saint Joseph.

Blessings on this Pentecost Sunday! This stained-glass depiction of Pentecost graces Saint Joseph Chapel at the Josephinum. It is one of 12 double-lancet windows that depict the life of Christ, beginning with the betrothal of Mary and Joseph through the sending of the Holy Spirit. The windows were crafted by Haurand Studios of Englewood, NJ in 1958.

Josephinum alumnus Father Joseph Ssebayigga T'01 receives a silver jubilee year blessing from Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala, age 99, who ordained him nearly 25 years ago on September 25, 2001.

Father Ssebayigga is pastor of Saint James Parish in Kampala, dean of 5 parishes, and assistant pastoral coordinator in the Kampala Archdiocese. "I am glad that with others we are 25 years in priesthood this year - glory to God! All of the alumni of Josephinum in Uganda are doing well - for that we are grateful to God, and for the formation we got at the Josephinum."

Congratulations Class of 2026! The Josephinum celebrated its 127th Commencement Exercises today, May 16.
The graduating class included seminarians from the Catholic Diocese of Birmingham in Alabama, Diocese of Columbus, Diocese of Ga***rd, Diocese of Joliet , Kiyinda-Mityana & Lugazi (both of the Uganda Episcopal Conference), Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter, Diocese of St Thomas USVI, Diocese of Steubenville, and Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, as well as three alumni of the Josephinum Diaconate Institute (JDI).

Today we celebrate the Class of 2026 and the close of another year of forming priests for the Church! Our first event today was Baccalaureate Mass, celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Steven Beseau, Rector/President. He was assisted by Deacons Zack Goodchild (Diocese of Columbus) and Wynand Ssenkusu (Lugazi, Uganda); the homily was given by Father Dylan James.
