Good afternoon, Buckeyes and welcome to the FINAL forecast of the semester!

After a rainy start to the week, we are now drying out this evening, but much cooler temps are in our area behind these showers. April was the warmest April on record in Columbus as well.

In the short term, expect showers to linger around overnight, clearing out by the morning tomorrow. Temps climb into the mid 50s as well. Friday, a dreary day is in store with some misty conditions and highs in the mid 50s, but lows are going to plummet Saturday night towards frost territory. Saturday clouds in the morning but clearing by the later evening hours and another night of potential frost. Sunday, temps climb into the low 60s, and winds relax some with partly cloudy skies. Overnight lows back near 50 degrees and then a chance of rain returns Monday with a scattered rumble of thunder and highs back into the mid 60s.

Have a great rest of the week, Buckeyes and have a safe and relaxing summer!

One last note, as us seniors graduate, we want to thank our fellow club members for a fantastic school year. I know myself and the rest of the graduating Eboard members and lead forecasters have had such an amazing year, and we are so grateful for the time spent forecasting each week. Signing off, class of 2026!

Happy Last Day of Classes, Buckeyes! We hope you have had a great semester and are sooo excited for finals!

Currently, a severe weather event is unfolding to our west for much of the Missouri Valley. The remnants of a morning MCS that tracked across Missouri, Illinois, and western Indiana are moving eastward, and some heavy rain is expected in Central OH this evening. Additional heavy rain is anticipated overnight as additional remnant activity from the severe weather to our west moves into our area. Storms are not expected to be severe in Central OH, but we may get some heavy rain, lightning and thunder.

Tomorrow, we should see mostly sunny skies with an increase in cloud coverage by early evening. Overnight, a shortwave trough will move eastward into the Ohio Valley, bringing some precipitation into our region. We are expecting precipitation totals to be in the quarter to half inch range with locally higher amounts possible. After precipitation subsides by early-mid Wednesday morning, we will have a much cooler day with temperatures peaking around 61 and cloudy skies throughout the day. This cooler pattern will continue into Thursday with similar high temperatures to Wednesday. As higher pressure builds into the region Thursday, we should see sunnier skies with light winds, making for a pretty nice day.

Our Buckeye Forecast:
Tuesday: High of 73. Light winds at 5-10 mph with mostly sunny skies in the afternoon. Temperatures will drop to near 52 with showers overnight.
Wednesday: Cooler with a high of 61. Light winds at 5-10 mph with showers ending by mid-morning. Cloudy throughout the day with temperatures dropping to near 44 overnight.
Thursday: High of 61. Mostly sunny with winds at 5-10 mph. Overnight, temperatures will cool to the lower 40's with northerly flow.

Happy last Friday of the semester, Buckeyes!

After some thunderstorms in the middle of the week, the second half of the last full week of April has been warm and partly cloudy. However, in Oklahoma, residents of the city of Enid unfortunately are reeling from a preliminarily rated EF4 tornado with winds of at least 170 mph. The only good news from this storm is that no fatalities were reported. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people who have lost so much in this tornado.

Back here at home, gorgeous weather is expected to settle in over the weekend. A cold front will sweep through tonight, delivering showers and maybe some thunderstorms this evening. Temperatures will rise to near 70 tomorrow behind the cold front, about 10-15 degrees cooler than today. It will be cloudy in the morning but sunny in the afternoon. Expect temperatures to fall into the upper 40s overnight, with breezy winds and partly cloudy skies. Sunday will be very similar to tomorrow, except without the morning clouds. it will be mostly sunny, and winds will calm down slightly. Overnight, temperatures will fall to around 45 amid mostly clear skies. On Monday, the approach of a surface low pressure system to our northwest will push warm air into our region, getting temperatures to near 77. Winds will increase throughout the day and night, and scattered showers should infiltrate the region overnight as temps fall to near 60.

Thank you to those of you who have followed our forecasts this year, and make sure to stick around for the final two next week! We wish you the best of luck on final exams and projects, and hope you all have a great summer!

Gooooooood evening Buckeyes!

After a rainy and stormy afternoon with a severe thunderstorm on campus, we are now wandering into a high-pressure dome with a consistent forecast for the end of the week.

Expect highs to be in the low to mid 80s for the end of the week and overnight lows to be near 60 degrees. On Friday night, a possible weak QLCS is expected to move through the Indiana/Ohio area, and the remnants of that system will make their way into the campus area with some rumbles of thunder expected and maybe a stray wind gust.

Saturday, we cool off some into the mid 70s and back to a nice weather pattern for the end of the school year.

Have a great rest of your week, Buckeyes!

Hello Buckeyes, and Happy Monday! Here in Columbus, we've seen a substantial cooldown after a cold front made its way through the area on Sunday. Tonight we are under a Frost Advisory from 11PM - 10AM this evening into tomorrow morning and could see temperatures approaching the freezing mark. We've saw below average temperatures today, with temperatures barely breaking 50°. Thankfully temperatures will rise throughout the remainder of the week, climbing back above average.

Accompanying the warming temperatures will be ridging aloft. This ridging will bring high pressure, warm temperatures, and clear skies to the area. The main chance for rain will be Wednesday morning, where we could see rain and a couple rumbles of thunder. There is a very isolated chance of thunderstorms both Tuesday and Wednesday, but it is likely that we will not see much in the way of precip. It will be a warm and beautiful week, so make sure to get outside and enjoy it if you can!

Tuesday: Partly cloudy and windy. Isolated gusts up to 30MPH. High of 74° with a low of 57°.
Wednesday: Rain early, skies clear throughout the day. Winds will calm to 5-10MPH. High of 73° with a low of 53°.
Thursday: Mostly sunny and warm. Winds of 5-10MPH, with a high of 78° and low of 58°.

What's up, Buckeyes? We hope you have had a great week as we all prepare for the final full week of the spring semester!...

What's up, Buckeyes? We hope you have had a great week as we all prepare for the final full week of the spring semester!

This week, we have experienced temperatures 15°F to 25°F above normal, with summer-like warmth occurring in Columbus. I'm sure a lot of you have enjoyed it (including myself!), but these above normal temperatures will come to an end on Saturday evening. A strong cold front that is associated with severe thunderstorms in the Midwest and Central Plains today is producing multiple tornadoes, but fortunately, we will not see nearly as bad weather. The front will move through during the afternoon on Saturday, bringing below normal temperatures to central Ohio during the remainder of the weekend and into the early portion of next week. An area of high pressure will move in on Sunday and Monday, providing calmer but fair-weather conditions to our region, so it will still feel relatively nice outside! High temperatures are expected to rebound into the 70s toward the middle and end of the week.

For Saturday, expect a high temperature near 76°F, with gusty winds out of the southwest. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon, and some of them might be strong to severe, especially as you go east of I-71. The cold front will push through as we approach the evening, causing temperatures to fall to around 40 by Sunday morning as the rain and eventually clouds filter out of our region. On Sunday, temperatures will peak in the upper 50s, but winds will continue to be gusty out of the west. Skies will be partly cloudy. Overnight, it will be mostly clear, and temperatures will drop to just above freezing. I would expect a Frost Advisory, so if you have any tender plants, make sure to protect them from cold conditions. On Monday we will see temperatures rise to about 54°F, winds will be calmer, and skies will be mostly sunny. Overnight, it will get chilly once again, and higher clouds will infiltrate the sky as we dip down to near 37°F.

If you are attending the Ohio State Football Spring Game on Saturday, make sure to bring an umbrella or a poncho in case some rain moves through during the event! We hope you have a great weekend, and stay tuned for our next forecast on Monday!

Saturday: 76°F (Winds: 10-15 mph, gusts up to 25 mph) - Scattered showers and thunderstorms
Saturday Night: 39°F (Winds: 5-15 mph) - Scattered showers early, clearing late
Sunday: 58°F (Winds: 10-15 mph, gusts up to 25 mph) - Partly cloudy, cooler and breezy
Sunday Night: 34°F (Winds: 5-10 mph) - Mostly clear, cold
Monday: 54°F (Winds: 5-10 mph) - Mostly sunny
Monday Night: 37°F (Winds: 5-10 mph) - Mostly clear

Good evening, Buckeyes!

It has been a very nice week this week with record low high temps recorded in Cbus! We have had 6 record low high temps in Cbus this year since March 7th!

Tomorrow an isolated scattered rain shower is possible with some rumbles of thunder in the afternoon. Overnight clouds clear out and then temps rise Friday as with calm winds and mostly clear skies. This will be another nice taste of summer!!! Saturday for the spring game and the opening day of Kings Island expect temps in the low to mid 80s with severe weather rolling in in the later evening. Gusty winds seem to be the main concern, but the severe threat needs to be monitored still for upgrades to severe weather parameters.

Have a great rest of the week, buckeyes!

04/14/2026

Hello Buckeyes, and Happy Monday! We are entering a warm and active period for the next week. Temperatures will be over 20° above average throughout the week as high pressure will sit over Columbus. Temperatures will be in the 80s throughout much of the week, so if you love warm weather, enjoy it! Alongside these unseasonably warm temperatures, winds will be quite strong throughout the week. Each day is expected to see winds of at least 10 MPH, with the potential for stronger gusts on Wednesday. We could see a couple of gusts up to 25 MPH throughout the day, but these gusts will not be widespread.

Alongside the warm and windy conditions, there is a chance for storms everyday in our forecast period. Right now we are not expecting much in the way of severe weather. Tomorrow is our biggest threat for strong storms, as we are on the edge of the marginal risk. The biggest risks are isolated damaging winds and large hail. While we are not expecting severe storms here, it is always smart to pay attention to the weather in case things change! The storms tomorrow and Wednesday will be isolated to scattered in nature, s not everyone will see rain. Thursday night has the highest chance of widespread rain, with rain moving into the area during the overnight. There could be an isolated rumble or two of thunder, but nothing severe. A cold front will move into the area Friday morning, bringing lower temperatures for our Friday.

Tuesday: Scattered storms. High of 81° and a low of 65°. Winds 10-15 MPH
Wednesday: Warm with scattered storms. High of 84° with a low of 64°. Winds will increase to 10-20 MPH
Thursday: Rain overnight. High of 79° with a low of 60°. Variable winds ranging from 5-15 MPH.

Happy Friday, Buckeyes! We hope you have had a wonderful week!

After a high pressure system dominated the weather pattern here in Ohio this week, some unsettled weather is expected over the next week or so. Troughing in the western United States is likely to persist, contributing to severe weather in the Central and Midwestern U.S. this week. Most of this will occur to our west, but there is a small chance some strong thunderstorms infiltrate our area.

Today (Friday), a cold front will be moving through, causing temperatures to fall overnight. Tomorrow will be cooler as a new high pressure system passes to our north. It will be a beautiful day with hardly any wind or clouds present. Saturday night, some high level clouds will move in as our next weather system approaches, and temperatures will fall into the 40s. On Sunday, strong southwesterly winds will push 80-degree temperatures into central Ohio. Skies will be partly cloudy and will increase throughout the day. Overnight, rain is likely, and temperatures will fall into the low 60s. The rain should clear out early Monday morning, but the clouds will probably stick around. It will be very warm, reaching the mid-70s, and winds will still be gusty. Overnight, conditions will be comparable to the previous night, getting down to the low 60s, but the coverage of showers will be less than that of Sunday night.

We hope that you have a great weekend, Buckeyes!

Saturday: 64°F (Winds: Calm) - Sunny, gorgeous day (get outside!)
Saturday Night: 47°F (Winds: 5-10 mph) - Partly cloudy
Sunday: 81°F (Winds: 10-15 mph) - Partly cloudy, warm
Sunday Night: 62°F (Winds: 10-15 mph) - Cloudy, rain likely
Monday: 76°F (Winds: 10-15 mph) - Mostly cloudy
Monday Night: 62°F (Winds: 5-10 mph) - Cloudy, scattered showers
