Please welcome Professor of Nursing Mary Elizabeth Curtin Pierce,  graduated from a two-year nursing program in Massachusetts in 2005 and worked as a staff nurse for most of her career in the Emergency Department. A fourth-generation nurse, she has served in the community setting as well in Hospice and Homecare. During Graduate School, she undertook a role in Hospital Quality for Dartmouth Health in the Infection Prevention Department, serving a critical role during the global pandemic. She earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing Leadership from Franklin Pierce University. Her work during the pandemic earned her a RISE award as well as the Keene State College’s President's Annual Outstanding Women of NH Award in 2022. She has been a leader in presenting information on Hospital Acquired Infection Prevention, Antimicrobial Stewardship, and Patient Experience.
