History came to life in Dr. Lucas’s HIST 2301 class! šŸ“œ

Over the past few weeks, students stepped into the roles of historical figures during a Reacting to the Past game focused on post-Civil War Reconstruction in New Orleans. Through research, debate, and persuasive speeches, they worked to influence the future of Reconstruction, just like the leaders of the era.

Learning history isn’t just about reading it… sometimes you have to live it.šŸ‘€

Senior history major Tyler Boyd presented ā€œMethods: WW1 Research and Analysis for Meuseumsā€ alongside Arkansas National Guard Meuseum Director Raymond Screws at the Arkansas Meuseum Association in Newport.

Drawing on his internship research, Tyler explored how primary sources on Arkansas’ fallen WW1 soldiers can help museums conduct meaningful research more efficiently and expand their historical records. His work not only contributed to Meuseum archives but also led to a published article in the organization’s journal.

We’re proud to see our students making a real impact in the field of public history!šŸ‘
