University of Central Arkansas ROTC along with the University of Arkansas, Arkansas State, and University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff conducted a 3 day Field Training Exercise, training over 125 Cadets. Juniors and Seniors conducted platoon movement and maneuver tactics combined with offensive and defensive operations with 4 Platoons across 6 tactical lanes.

Freshmen and Sophomores conducted day and night land navigation lanes, team building exercises, round robin training, the obstacle course, and capped off their weekend with UH-60 Blackhawk flights around the central Arkansas region.

A big thank you to the Arkansas National Guard for their support with training future Army Leaders!

Every day is a good day when it's on the range! Our Cadets put their skills to the test by going to the zero and qualifying range at Camp Robinson in order to prepare for Cadet Summer Training at Fort Knox. Not only did every Cadet qualify, but their scores were even higher than they were last year!

• Be a United States citizen
• Be at least 17-years-old
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent (upcoming seniors, you qualify as you’re on track to graduate)
• Have an unweighted high school 2.5 GPA
• Take the SAT or ACT prior to applying
• Army Fitness Test is required to maintain the scholarship once awarded
• Agree to serve in the U.S. Army

Congratulations to 2LT Zachary Benham on his commissioning into the Army Arkansas National Guard this past Friday! 2LT Benham received his Bachelors of Science in Cyber Physical Security and is going to be in the Cyber Branch with the National Guard. He will be missed at our program, but we wish him the best in his future endeavors!

The week, UCA ROTC Cadets were able to finally see what branches they would transition into when they commission next year. Every single one of our Cadets received a branch that was within their top 3, so it was safe to say we had some happy future lieutenants!

Our social media pages may have been quiet for the last month and a half, but our Cadets have been working hard! From completing a great field training exercise (FTX) this past weekend at Camp Robinson, to the Color Guard presenting at numerous Veterans Day celebrations across the central Arkansas region, as well as helping out at the City of Colleges Half Marathon. Throw in a lot of tactical labs, early morning PT sessions, and of course plenty of studying while they attend classes, these Cadets only know one word... SUCCESS!

“The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status."
