📚 Four of our incredible early childhood education students visited the classrooms at Waccamaw Elementary to celebrate National Literacy Day! 📖❤️

They spent the morning reading to young learners, sparking a love for books, and gaining valuable hands-on teaching experience. 🏫✨

We are so proud of our students for partnering with the local community to shape the readers and leaders of tomorrow!

A huge thank you to Kate Sommers, Waccamaw Elementary School's library media specialist, for organizing this event and welcoming our students.

🎉 We're proud to celebrate a powerhouse sister duo whose roots at Spadoni College paved the way for local educational leadership!

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹𝘀:
👩‍🏫 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗵 𝗗𝘂𝗻𝗻 (M.Ed. Educational Leadership '17; Elementary Education '11) — Principal of Waterway Elementary.
👩‍🏫 𝗝𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘆 (M.Ed. Educational Leadership '11; BS Applied Mathematics ’01) — New Principal of Ocean Bay Middle School as of July!

These sisters were the first in their family to earn a four-year degree, and they credit the incredible mentorship of Spadoni faculty for preparing them to lead.

𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗵’𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: “If I had to say one thing that really prepared me for my current career from my time at CCU, it would be all of my professors and how they poured their knowledge, compassion, and leadership into my life. They treated every student with respect but also held us accountable.

During my graduate degree, I learned a lot about leadership from the faculty leading by example at CCU. I was privileged to be taught by some of the greatest, such as Dr. Russell Vaden, Dr. Cobb, Dr. May, and Dr. Geer.”

Driven by the memory of their mother and supported by a college that believed in them, they achieved their lifelong dream together. 🎓👏
