COASTAL CAROLINA UNIVERSITY CHANTICLEER REGIMENT COLOR GUARD AUDITIONS 2018
Thank you for your interest in the Chanticleer Regiment at Coastal Carolina University. Please read the following information below concerning the color guard auditions for the 2018 season. We are using video recorded auditions this year to make it easier for you to put together your best presentation.
Below you will find the requirements that need to be included in your video submission. Your submission will include two parts; one technical presentation and one performance presentation. Please see specifics on both presentations below.
TECHNICAL PRESENTATION
• Drop spins (20 counts on the left and 20 counts on the right…40 counts total of spins)
• Cones (16 counts)
• single (toss)
• 1 ½ (toss)
• 45 (toss)
• Weapon work (optional): If you have proficiency on weapon (sabre/rifle) please include a short segment demonstrating spins/flourishes/and tosses. This helps us greatly in the planning for the season.
PERFORMANCE PRESENTATION
• 3-5 min. solo routine
Take the opportunity in the performance presentation video to show your best performance skills. We encourage you to use music of your choosing (optional) and incorporate your proficiency on flag. Show us what you got, and remember to have fun!!!
SUBMISSION & DEADLINES
Your video submission should be made by email. If it is easier for you to record your videos and upload them privately (or publically if you would like) on YouTube, etc, please send the link allowing us the ability and access to review.
Videos or links to videos are due by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2018. Videos or links to videos should be emailed to both address below:

PRELIMINARY INFORMATION ABOUT THE UPCOMING SEASON
Those selected as members of the 2018 Chanticleer Regiment Color Guard will be required to attend the pre-season band camp held Sunday, August 12 - Sunday, August 19, 2018. Please note that attendance is mandatory. The CCU band area will make it possible for students living in university housing for fall 2018 to move into their dormitory hall early at no cost to you. Early move-in will be Saturday, August 11, 2018. More information on this matter after auditions.
Each participant in the marching band must register for marching band during the fall semester. Marching band meets three times a week (M/W/F) from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Coastal Band Hall. A service award is available to each member for participation. Please register for the following:

This class may be taken for both zero and one credit hour (depending on what your schedule needs). If you have trouble during registration (after auditions), please do not hesitate to contact me. Lastly, if you know of others who have not received this information, please help in passing it along.
