CAHSS congratulates Professor of Percussion, Dr. Blake Tyson on 25 years of organizing and hosting the UCA Day of Percussion. During the recent 2026 event, several former students joined together to commission the piece, "To the Wonder," by UCA alumn Brant Blackard. It was dedicated to Dr. Tyson and the festival and performed as a total surprise. The day also included workshops, masterclasses, and performances from professionals and alumni, with hundreds of K-12 and college students attending. The day ended with an incredible collaborative concert featuring CAHSS Artists in Residence, Sō Percussion, with both UCA and area high school students.
