Coastal Carolina University Coastal LIFE Program The CoastalLIFE Program provides an alternate pathway to college for young adults with moderate intellectual disabilities.

The CoastalLIFE Program at Coastal Carolina University was developed to provide an age-appropriate educational experience for young adults with moderate intellectual disabilities. LIFE students attend college courses, live in on-campus student housing, and participate in campus activities. They have full access to campus resources and facilities and are recognized as Coastal Carolina University st

udents. CoastalLIFE aims to help these young adults learn how to live independently, gain knowledge in their chosen areas of interest, and gain employment skills to obtain meaningful employment.

Did you know that college is an option for students with ? There are over 350 programs serving more than 8,000 students with ID in the U.S.
Students with who attend college programs are more likely to have competitive jobs after college (RSA 911 data; Sannicandro et al., 2018).
In South Carolina, we have 6 IPSE programs with currently enrolled students & a 7th program will begin this fall at Midlands Tech in Columbia- MidlandsLIFE!
