Mother left the Boykin plantation as a teen, moved to DC w/ Auntie Mary at 56 N Street, SE (our base). Worked caring for for YT babies. Secured job cleaning Pentagon at night w/ Top Secret Clearance, which she proudly kept for 50 years as she moved to work Supreme Court elevators, and on to Department of State as a dignitary guide. Whites disallowed equal public education for her and me until 1954 with Brown. By 1954, I had nearly completed public education (1958). Are whites ashamed of their skin color bu****it?
