The College of Interdisciplinary Studies at Tennessee Technological University contains one department and three schools: the Department of Communication Studies, the School of Interdisciplinary Studies, the School of Professional Studies and the School of Environmental and Sustainability Studies.

CoIS is home to innovative academic degree programs that are in-demand and make a difference in the world we live in. Whether you are seeking an online, off site, or on campus degree program, our college can meet your needs. We are here to customize a program to meet your specific career goals and to provide you with an outstanding academic experience. Our award-winning faculty, directors and staff are dedicated to helping you reach your career aspirations. We are able to blend science, humanities, business, and technology together to bring about new programs that expand traditional areas of focus. Imagine blending GIS, environmental science, and business economics or imagine combining an emphasis in accounting with an emphasis in communication. Our college interacts with regional partners including community colleges and chambers of commerce. We have developed innovative programs and supported rural development with our knowledgeable staff and support team in local and outlying areas all over Tennessee. Such partnerships allow TTU to deliver undergraduate and graduate degree programs to rural communities. In addition, we also bring customized programs to our employers to meet the needs of new and existing business.
