The Clarinet Studio at Tennessee Tech provides a vibrant and invigorating environment for our talented students. Cramer, students participate in weekly private lessons, repertory and master classes, Clarinet Choir and chamber ensembles. Students have ample performance opportunities in weekly classes, studio recitals, special/degree recitals as well as in large-ensemble concerts throughout the acad

emic year. The TTU Clarinet Studio hosts many special events, including the annual Clarinet Choir Day. Students also have opportunities to work with guest clinicians and performers coming from all over the world. 🎶 Please join us in welcoming our new Interim Clarinet Professor, Dr. Stephen Dubetz! 🎶

We are so excited to welcome Dr. Dubetz to our music department! An accomplished clarinetist and educator, Dr. Dubetz currently serves as principal clarinet of the Madison Gamer Symphony and second clarinet of the Lakeside Symphony, while also performing regularly with ensembles including the Erie Philharmonic and Lincoln Symphony. He has also performed with the Cleveland Orchestra and as a soloist with multiple collegiate and professional ensembles.

Beyond his performance career, Dr. Dubetz’s research focuses on the intersection of mindfulness and musical practice, including his work Meditative Clarinet: A Guide for Integrating Mindfulness and Clarinet Playing. He has taught clarinet and mindfulness for musicians at universities and summer music programs.

We’re thrilled to have Dr. Dubetz joining us and can’t wait to see all that this next chapter brings! 🎶🖤

Congratulations to Dr. Cramer on his performance last night with pianist Josh Davis at Christ Lutheran Church! The music was outstanding! Some of our studio members came to say farewell to Dr. Cramer as he leaves Tennessee Tech. We all wish him the best in his endeavors and hope to hear him play again.

This Thursday! 6.11.26 at 5:30 PM in Wattenbarger Auditorium. Clarinet and Confections is back! This is a “pay what you can” event, and the proceeds will go toward funding the BSO’s music education initiatives. This performance is in remembrance and celebration of Dr. Bill DeJournett. We hope to see you there!

Studio party shenanigans! Of course we can never get a photo with everyone in it (missed you Trevor, Jace, Paicence, Brookelyn, Katie Faye, Casey), but it was awesome to chill the night before graduation festivities!
