Today, April 29th, members handed out donuts in the Roaden University Center after having to do an indoor event due to weather. Even though our Dyeing in Dead Week event was canceled due to weather, we handed out donuts. Students were able to grab a free donut and learn about Rotary and the Polio Eradication project globally. The Counseling Center, Intercultural Affairs, and multiple other departments also received a dozen of donuts for their staff.
We took all extra donuts to the Cookeville Fire Department and Cookeville Police Department. We thank them for all they do to protect Cookeville and Tennessee Tech!
Huge thanks to the Cookeville Sunset Rotary for buying and donating Purple Pinkie donuts for us to give out! They also donated ~$3700 to Polio Eradication, and we can not thank them enough. We also thank our other Rotary clubs in Cookeville, Noon and Breakfast, for their continued support of Rotaract and our events.
We also want to shout out our Treasurer Caleb and senior Laci for all they have done with our Rotaract Club. Our club will have a hole missing without them.
Rotary is focused on Polio Eradication, as well as the other 7 areas of focus. Find more information on Rotary.org and find your cause and call to mission! It takes .30 cents to vaccinate a child from Polio, and cases are in the single digits thanks to Rotary & other organizations helping eradicate.
Are you a Tennessee Tech student and want to join to help CHANGE THE WORLD? Find us on Eagle Engage as "Rotaract Club" and join us next semester!
Have a wonderful summer, members and our community. We look forward to serving you next year!
