In 2003 there was an **EXPLOSION** of pink and purple at the University of Miami. Three Ambitious, Intelligent and Outstanding women started the movement, the revolution, the **FIRE** that has been consuming this campus since October 28th, 2003. Today, the Ablazin' Alpha Gamma (AΓ) Chapter of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. (ΣΛΓ) is the largest and fastest growing minority fra

ternal organization at UM, continuing of course in the footsteps of ΣΛΓ nationally, which is also known as the fastest growing social Greek-letter organisation nationwide. Though Latin-based, ΣΛΓ is home to a group of diverse, culturally aware and empowered Women of Distinction from the world over, all of whom bleed pink and purple and exude excellence in every aspect of their lives. We pride ourselves on our unique individuality in terms of cultural background, academic interests, political views, lifestyles, and interests. ΣΛΓ is truly an eclectic mix of women who are making an impact on the University of Miami and surrounding community. Nationally, Sigma Lambda Gamma was founded April 9th, 1990 at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa by five women. We are an academic, cultural, service, and social organization dedicated to promoting the empowerment of women in higher education. Nationally, we have over 103 chapters and with 26 universities working towards chapter status.
