Frost Music Education

Frost Music Education The music education program at the University of Miami's Frost School of Music is one of the most dynamic programs in the country.

Faculty are leaders in the field who specialize in a wide variety of areas, including: community music, social psychology of music, sociocultural issues, cultural diversity, assessment, and childhood music. They serve or have served as editorial board members of some of the most important journals in the field, including: Journal of Research in Music Education, Bulletin of the Council for Research, Update, Music Educators Journal, and Psychology of Music, among others.

Meet Chloe!

Why did you choose Music Education or who/what inspired you to become an educator?

My high school choir teacher was who ultimately inspired me. I want to become a music educator because I have seen how powerful music can be in people’s lives. My goal is to help future students gain confidence, joy and a sense of belonging through music, paying forward what my teachers have instilled in me.

What are you most excited for?

I am excited for the upcoming opportunities for the music education major!
