What CAN be said about the last few weeks of remote education at the Frost School of Music's Media Writing and Production Program, is that our students have been virtually visited and mentored by some of the brightest minds of the music industry.
For Composers, we've had the privilege of having THIS IS US Composer and Songwriter SID KHOSLA share his workflow and stories about writing score and songs for Television.
For Orchestrators, MWP Alum DAVID J KRYSTAL, who has orchestrated some of Hollywood's biggest films over the past years, inclusive of IT, DUNKIRK, and SHAZAM, evaluated and critiqued the orchestrations by our students for their final Film Scoring projects.
And for Producers, both of our Artists in Residence this semester, SALAAM REMI (AMY WINEHOUSE, NAS, ALICIA KEYS) and JULIO REYES-COPELLO (MARC ANTHONY, CAMILA CABELLO, ALEJANDRO SANZ) worked individually with our students, shared some of their more popular tracks and broke them down, from the germ of the song idea to the final sessions.
What a gift it is to be a part of this program, made up of such diverse minds and talents.
Grateful for this school year's ending - strong.
