Immigration Clinic students Joe Korzeb, 3L, Nolan Thomas, 3L, and Hannah Smaglis, JD ’25, alongside Professors Andrea Jacoski and Rebecca Sharpless, represented a client during oral argument before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit following extensive briefing. Professor Jacoski argued the case, and Joe Korzeb sat at counsel table during the hearing and played a key role in helping develop rebuttal arguments in real time.

This moment reflects the Clinic’s continued commitment to hands-on advocacy and meaningful impact in complex immigration cases.

Immigration Clinic students Carlos Santiago, 2L and Joe Korzeb, 3L joined Prof. Andrea Jacoski at a federal court hearing on a client’s habeas petition. The federal district court judge granted the writ, a major victory for the clinic’s client! After more than eight months in detention, the client was released and reunited with their family in the U.S.
