Accepting applications for Fall 2022. The MSEd in Higher Education Administration, a practice-based program whose graduates are hired into mid-level management positions, and the Executive EdD in Higher Education Leadership, a low-residency, cohort-based program in which working professionals advance and enhance their careers. The submission of GRE scores is no longer required for either program.
The MSEd in Higher Ed Administration at UM is accepting applications for Fall 2022, so apply now. The program offers a choice of three majors that lead to a Master of Science in Education: 1) Enrollment Management (EM), 2) Student Life & Development (SL&D), or 3) Institutional Research & Policy Analysis (IR&PA). All three instill understanding of colleges and universities from various viewpoints and of how their diverse functions coalesce to meet the higher education mission. Theory and research underpin classroom work as well as practicums in university departments. Scholarships cover part of tuition for full-time students, and valuable graduate administrative assistantships are available in university offices. Positions are limited, so apply for a GAAship as soon as possible. Contact MSEd program director Dr. Carol-Anne Phekoo at [email protected] or (305) 284-5013. She enjoys talking to students and welcomes any question!
The Executive EdD in Higher Education Leadership program leads to a Doctor of Education in three years via intensive, three-day weekend workshops each month on campus. Faculty include higher ed scholars, researchers, and top administrators who provide personal attention and guidance. Your dissertation research proposal is written in a course seminar, and the dissertation is being crafted by the third year. In the cohort model, you are supported and inspired by your peers, and the monthly weekend meetings also prepare students for qualifying exams for doctoral candidacy after coursework completion. Applications for Fall 2022 are still being accepted, so apply now.
