What does it mean to have an impact?

For professor, Stephen Cerrone, it started with donating a single boat to the University of Miami women’s rowing team. What followed was something larger.

Cerrone is helping support the team’s growth and funding travel as the women’s rowing team climbs national rankings and competes in prestigious rowing events.

The commitment to making a meaningful impact has long shaped Cerrone’s approach as both a practitioner, professor, and mentor. After a corporate career in human resources, he chose to teach full-time, drawn by the opportunity to influence students’ lives in meaningful ways.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science in 2019, double-majoring in geological sciences and ecosystem science and policy. Five years later, he returned to the university to pursue his M.B.A. at the Miami Herbert Business School. Those who knew him say his devotion to the university ran deep. UM was more than a school; it was a second home.

Cameron Moore's parents, Rich Moore and Andrea Moore, were presented with Cameron's diploma at the Graduate School Ceremony & Reception in the Spring 2026 semester, when Cameron was set to graduate.
