Meet Bridgette Nevils-Futch—M.S. '17, Ed.D. '26, and now officially a Triple Cane. 🎓

A longtime University employee who serves as associate ombudsperson for the Miller School of Medicine, Nevils-Futch earned her doctorate this spring online through the UM School of Education & Human Development.

When she walked the stage at Commencement, three generations of her family were there to see it.

"I feel like I've come full circle," she said. "It's amazing to be able to get this education from UM."

What's next? She's hoping to teach a course of her own, possibly in the Bachelor of General Studies program, where she earned her first degree in 2008.
