We’ll be meeting on Saturday, April 25th at 9 AM at University Beach to help keep our coastline clean and protect local animals. All supplies will be provided! Just bring yourself and a willingness to make a difference.

At last month’s TAMUCC AFS Student Subunit meeting, we had the opportunity to hear from two guest speakers who shared insights into their research and career paths in marine science!

Dr. Dominic Swift spoke about his work with sharks, while Dr. Joseph Matt highlighted his research on oysters and genetics, offering two distinct and valuable perspectives in the field 🦈🦪

It was a great meeting with engaging discussions, and we appreciate everyone who attended along with our speakers for taking the time to share their experiences!

Our AFS student subgroup spent last weekend doing a beach clean-up at the University beach! 🌊♻️

In just an hour and a half, Michaela, Allison, Cade, Charles, and Eileen collected all this trash and left the beach looking gorgeous. Thank you to everyone who came out to help protect our coastline! 💙

The TAMU-CC AFS Student Subunit had a busy past week of outreach, participating in STEM Night at Dr. J.A. Garcia Elementary School on Thursday and volunteering at the Poco Rojo Kid Fish event at the CCA Marine Development Center on Saturday. Our members helped spark interest in science, conservation, and fishing through hands-on activities and youth engagement at both events 🐟 🎣
