Introducing Richard Solis 💻

Richard Solis is a graduate MFA student and graphic designer from Refugio. He holds a BFA degree from Texas A&M-Kingsville and 13 years of professional design experience in higher education marketing, news media, and advertising. He’s a multifaceted designer with work ranging from clean and corporate to dark and gritty. When he’s not working on branding and event pieces for Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, he’s thinking of clever ways to integrate illustrative elements and handmade lettering into his work. "Throughout his design journey, he’s focused on areas such as visual branding, exploring typography and letterforms, developing digital illustrations, and has even taught lower-level design courses as an adjunct instructor. Mentoring and teaching have been at the core of his work at TAMU-CC Marketing and Communications, and in the classroom as he has worked with many design students in the program over the past few years. Upon graduation, he plans to continue working at the Island University and aspires to take on a future creative leadership role. When he’s not at the office, Richard enjoys playing and collecting video games, practicing his drawing, painting, and printmaking skills, listening to music, and thrifting.

Check out more of Richard’s work at our exhibition, Senior Mosaic. Join us on May 14th at UC Oso 221.

Introducing Luke Carrillo 💻

Luke Carrillo is a graphic design senior from Corpus Christi, Texas. His work is bold and layout-driven, often emphasizing strong visual structure and impactful composition. He is drawn to design that communicates clearly while still leaving room for expressive, eye-catching moments, balancing clarity with creativity in every project. During his time at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, Luke has explored a wide range of design approaches, from imagery-focused compositions to typography-driven systems. He has worked across various forms of collateral, including rebrands, advertising campaigns, packaging, and, most notably, publication design—an area he has grown especially passionate about. Through these experiences, he has developed a versatile skill set and a deeper appreciation for how design can adapt across different contexts. After graduation, Luke plans to remain in Texas and pursue opportunities that allow him to expand his experience across multiple areas of design. He is eager to continue building his skills and becoming a well-rounded designer, with the goal of supporting a diverse range of clients and creative needs. Outside of the studio, Luke enjoys photography, reading comics, and playing immersive video games. He finds inspiration in storytelling across mediums, believing that great ideas often come from the worlds we explore beyond design, whether through visual narratives, interactive experiences, or everyday moments.

Introducing Alyssa Quezada 💻

Alyssa Quezada is a graphic design senior from Corpus Christi, Texas. Her focus is comprised of brand identity and publication design as she enjoys problem solving and discovering the best solution for a brand and structuring layouts. Given her previous background in architecture, Alyssa’s design work is heavily influenced by structure and geometry. Additionally, Alyssa is a devout follower of Christ, and seeks to create more faith-based designs. During her studies at TAMUCC, Alyssa developed a strong affinity for typography as she discovered that there are many different styles and possible combinations to make with different typefaces and discovering what works best for a solution was an exciting challenge. In addition to this, Alyssa also ventured into the world of motion graphics, and discovered that one of her hidden passions was to create animations. After graduation, Alyssa plans to pursue a career locally at an in-house organization to practice the continuous use of branding. Long-term, she will strive to develop brands for small, faith and family based local businesses who are just starting out and need high-quality design work. Outside of the studio, Alyssa enjoys creating miniature models, hanging out with family and friends, drinking coffee, and traveling.

Introducing Julia Coleman 💻

Julia Coleman is a Graphic Designer and Illustrator based in Ingleside, Texas. She describes her design style as bold, fun, modern and versatile. Her love of the arts and all things creative has led her to Graphic Design, where her traditional art skills have truly blossomed into new mediums. Even though she is well-versed in the digital world, between designing she also loves to just whip out a pencil and paper to draw. Her favorite aspect of design is brand and identity, because she likens each brand to a ‘character’ that she can flesh out. She enjoys exploring the brand ‘character’s’ voice, style, psychology, personality, appearance, and their everyday ‘accessories’ (i.e., brand extensions, applications, etc.). She also values human-made art and design, meaning creating original and unexpected solutions is always something she is passionate about doing herself, with no AI required (not even for this bio). She is ambitious and enjoys a challenge, so even if she is unfamiliar with a style, program, or culture, she will be sure to thoroughly research and be fully immersed in whatever she dabbles in. She loves a challenge, and regularly tests the limits of what she can do with her skills and creative eye. Julia has a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and a minor in marketing from Texas A&M University Corpus-Christi. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, writing, singing, watching movies and shows, and playing with her 3 family dogs. When she finds the time to draw, her favorite things to draw are people, specifically characters and portraits.

Check out more of Julia’s work at or in person at our exhibition, Senior Mosaic. Join us on May 14th at UC Oso 221.

After graduation, Lanah hopes to pursue a position in-house or at a mid-sized creative agency near home in order to refine her craft and expand her skillset.
