The College of Business is excited to announce that Dr. Randall Harris, Professor of Management at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, has been appointed Vice President of Publications and Editor of the Case Research Journal (CRJ) by the NACRA Executive Board, effective January 1, 2026. A dedicated NACRA member since 2000, Dr. Harris is an award-winning case writer, teacher, and leader who has earned multiple Best Case awards, the prestigious Tate Award, and the NACRA Fellows Award for his exemplary contributions. We are proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition of his outstanding impact on case writing, teaching, and leadership in the business education community.

Dr. Murphy Smith, Professor of Accounting at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, RELLIS Campus, presented a research paper titled “An Interactive Classroom Introduction to the Economic Impact of AI and Expert Systems” at the CATIE Chancellor’s Conference on Academic Technology, held June 9, 2025, at the RELLIS Campus.
The paper was coauthored with Dr. David Kerr of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, along with TAMU-CC colleagues Dr. Katherine Taken Smith and Dr. Terri Xu. The Chancellor’s Conference gathers faculty, staff, and researchers from across the Texas A&M University System to share innovations in academic technology and pedagogy.
Dr. Smith, whose research in artificial intelligence dates back to the 1990s, offered insights into the economic and societal implications of AI and expert systems. The presentation included a classroom-ready framework designed to help educators introduce AI concepts to students in an engaging and accessible way.

Kudos to TAMU-CC Accounting graduate Grace Staten! She earned her BBA degree at the RELLIS Campus in Bryan, Texas, where TAMU-CC is one of seven system universities offering degree programs. At the RELLIS Campus commencement on May 9, 2025, Grace was one of three students to receive a RELLIS Chancellor's Award—the highest student honor at RELLIS. Earlier, she was awarded the Texas Society of CPAs Academic Excellence Award. The College of Business offers its BBA programs at RELLIS in accounting, marketing, management, finance, general business, and, starting in fall 2025, business economics.
