Established in 2000, Anchor Camp welcomes First Year Islanders to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi each year for the purpose of giving them an opportunity to make connections with current and future Islanders and to learn more about what it means to be an Islander in a fun, laid-back atmosphere. Our hope is that through Anchor Camp, Islanders will begin to find their Anchor and feel more at hom
e here on the Island before classes even begin. Anchor Camp is led by current Islanders and staff who are passionate about making the first year of college successful for all Islanders who participate in our program. Every Anchor Camp staff member has personal experiences that enable them to provide advice about classes, living on or off campus, fun things to do in Corpus Christi, and anything else students may need to know to begin their journey as an Islander.
