An update on 07 DODGE with the Cummins 5.9 that we are working on. We replaced the crankshaft position sensor and now we are receiving a signal, but the engine would still NOT start. We checked to make sure we were getting fuel to the high pressure pump and found that there was signs of water in the fuel. We removed the cap off the fuel filter housing and found it had a bunch of water in it. With this much water, I am sure it took out the fuel system. NOT a good sign. Need to talk to the customer now to see what he will want me to do next.

Yesterday a customer came by to talk to me about working on his 07 DODGE truck. I asked him what was wrong with it, and he said the engine had a lot of blow by. I told him to bring it and I would look at it. He then informed me, that the engine would NOT start. Now this is another problem, since the engine will NOT start and it would be hard to tell if the engine does have a lot of blow by. Today we looked at the truck. The engine would NOT start. We hooked up a scan tool and found it had several fault codes. One of the codes was for the crankshaft position sensor. This will cause the engine NOT to start. We will need to look at it a little more. STAY TUNE.

Day Four at the Cummins class. Today we finished putting back together the XD transmission. We also did a little work with Eaton Service Ranger 4 software. We have this software and we use it. This software is used to hook up to both of the transmission we worked on. Tomorrow is the last day. Have learned ALOT about how to work on these transmission.

Alright Day Three. Today we worked on a Cummins/Eaton XD transmission. We disassembled the transmission and looked at the different parts. This transmission was easier to work on. Since these transmission have aluminon case, it makes them easier to move around. These transmission also take ALOT of special tools to be able to work on them. Tomorrow we will finish putting it back together. Stay tune.

Today day two of the class at Cummins. Yesterday we started tearing the transmission down. Today we finished the teardown. We then looked at all the parts and then we started to reassemble the transmission. We also used all the different tools that are needed to repair this transmission. Stay tune.

Today one of our instructors is in Arlington at the Cummins training center. He is attending the Cummins/Eaton Endurant HD Transmission class. Cummins has been involved with Eaton in designing this automated transmission. The learning never ends.

Well we got a little behind because of the weather, so today we tried to do a little catching up. Today the students worked with our electrical boards and also the FLUKE multimeters. They worked on building circuits, taking measurements with the meters of both Voltage, OHMS and AMPS. Just going over the basics of electricity. The learning NEVER ends.
