Where data meets geography. Cheers to the insights and discoveries it brings!

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) connects location data with descriptive information, enabling mapping and analysis across industries. It helps users understand patterns, relationships, and context, improving communication, efficiency, management, and decision-making. Here at the Island University, the College of Science and Engineering offers a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in GIS for students with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in fields outside of GIS who wish to gain more experience with GIS. The program teaches students to analyze data, solve problems, and evaluate situations in a spatial context. Graduates will be able to:
-Conduct spatial analyses and create effective maps.
-Apply GIS to address real-world problems and research questions.
-Demonstrate programming skills in GIS applications, including
Web GIS and Python.
