This is the newly built Knife River/Everus Construction Safety Laboratory on Oregon State’s campus.

The lab allows faculty and students to conduct construction safety research. It includes three construction vehicle simulators that enable operators to work in virtual environments, allowing researchers to better understand operator behavior and improve construction site safety.

The lab will help advance construction safety research across Oregon and beyond.

For their capstone project, Oregon State engineering students designed a wave energy converter (WEC).

The team included Kai Bentley (mechanical), Celia Guillemin (mechanical), Benjamin Keenan (mechanical), Lesly Rojas (electrical and computer), and Aaron Sanchez (mechanical).

The Oregon Stater Awards honor outstanding alumni for their contributions to the engineering profession and to Oregon State University. By submitting a nomination, you help ensure that the achievements of Oregon State engineers are celebrated and their stories continue to inspire the Beaver community and beyond.
