Recent PhD graduate Richard Acquah-Sarpong was featured on KLCC's Oregon on the Record!

On this edition we talk with OSU Doctor of Applied Economics Richard Acquah-Sarpong about his study which showed that since 2012 more businesses have opening in Oregon than have closed. Then we talk to KLCC's Julia Boboc about her story on the life and lessons of a local sheep farmer.

Professor Jacob Gellman was featured on NPR, discussing how extreme weather is affecting homeowner insurance costs.

Disaster costs fell in the U.S. in 2025. Still, it was the fourth time in five years that extreme weather inflicted more than $100 billion in annual losses. Industry experts say the growing financial toll will make insurers wary of rushing to cut rates.

Students in our Agricultural and Food Business Management (AFBM) major recently had the opportunity to collaborate with the College of Ag marketing team on market research and promotion efforts for Beaver Classic, the line of food products made by OSU students.

The AFBM students engaged in hands-on learning with market analysis and research, and designed a marketing strategy for a new product. We will continue to incorporate Beaver Classic into AFBM courses to provide students with opportunities for project-based learning.
