Biological and Ecological Engineering is the application of engineering and life-science principles and problem-solving techniques to the optimum use and sustainability of biological resources. The curriculum is engineering-based with strong emphasis on the life sciences. With undergraduate and graduate options, we bring the insights from biology and the methods of engineering together to provide the products and tools of the future.

Next up: Angelica O'Neill
After graduation, Angelica will be entering their second year of the Accelerated Master’s Program and taking the FE exam either this summer or next school year.
Angelica’s favorite memory at OSU is the connections and community they built through an OSU club called Real Life—retreats, fun events, and friendships that turned into a supportive, loving community.

Next up: Noah Fisher!
Noah plans to pursue an MEng in Biological & Ecological Engineering this fall. This summer, they’ll be interning with AKS Engineering & Forestry. Noah’s favorite OSU memory was studying abroad in the Peruvian Andes and Amazon—exploring Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) alongside Western science principles.
Congratulations, Noah! We’re excited for the next part of your journey—and can’t wait to see what you do next.

It's another Senior Spotlight! 🎓
Next up: Keira Janowski!
After graduation, Keira will be an intern on Jacobs’ Water Team in Portland, OR this summer, supporting a range of water resources engineering projects. She’ll then return to OSU in the fall to complete her MEng in Biological & Ecological Engineering.
One of Keira’s favorite memories was watching everyone’s final senior design presentations. Each group brought a unique, creative spin (from a Lily pointer stick to a Bad Bunny reference), and it was incredible to see how much every team grew over two terms of senior design.
Keira, we at BEE are so proud of you and your peers. Have an amazing internship—we can’t wait to see you back this fall!

Her favorite memory at OSU: The River Engineering rafting trip on the Rogue River with her classmates and faculty member, Scott Wright. "It was such a great time to let loose with the people who I've been through the hardest classes with! I love this cohort with all my heart!"

Next up: Lilian Hiedrick!
After graduation, Lilian will be studying and taking the FE exam and looking for job opportunities in the Albany and/or Salem areas. Their favorite memory at OSU is going on the River Engineering rafting trip. "It was very fun to get to know everyone in the major and go on a road trip. It was also very interesting to go on all the site visits.
