Oregon State Psi Chi Oregon State University's Psi Chi Chapter-- the International Honor Society in Psychology --

• Psi Chi provides national recognition for academic excellence in psychology, an honor which can be noted on employment applications, vitae, and resumes.
• Through membership in Psi Chi, students gain a sense of community with others in psychology and an identification with the discipline.
• Psi Chi provides a local, regional, and national forum for obtaining information and developing perspectiv

es about the field of psychology, learning about educational and career opportunities, and forming meaningful professional networks.
• The local level, chapter membership facilitates leadership development, interaction with other students who have similar interests, and service to the department and institution sponsoring Psi Chi.
• Members receive a membership card and certificate and, through chapter mailings, copies of the Psi Chi newsletter. (Following graduation, members may subscribe to the quarterly newsletter.)
• Psi Chi chapter activities provide students with valuable opportunities to develop one-on-one relationships with professors who can stimulate their interest in psychology, involve them in research projects, and write meaningful letters of recommendation for them.
• Psi Chi encourages student research at the regional and national as well as local levels through undergraduate and graduate research award competitions and provides opportunities for students to present research and receive certificates recognizing their accomplishments at regional and national psychological association meetings.
• Our opportunities for teaching and research assistantships are often offered to Psi Chi students before other students.
• Psi Chi sponsors outstanding programs at regional and national psychological association meetings. Members benefit not only from the programs, but also from the opportunity to meet leading psychologists and students from other chapters.
• Membership in Psi Chi meets one of the requirements for entrance at the GS-7 level in numerous professional and technical occupations in the United States government.

Happy Week 9, Beavers! As finals get closer, remember that taking breaks is just as important as studying. 🐾 This week's Wellness Wednesday spotlight is on Paws to De-Stress and Office Hours with Cedar!

Whether you need a quick study break or just want to relax for a bit, spending time with therapy dogs can be a great way to recharge before finals week. Therapy dog visits are offered at the end of each term to provide students and faculty with some furry support, while Cedar has regular office hours. Make sure you stop by and spend time with a pup!

Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) and the Beavers Belong Support Network are hosting a spring carnival to finish off the end of the school year with a bang! The CDDC is a community-based resource hub that supports individuals experiencing homelessness, low income, and mental health challenges in Benton County and the surrounding areas. They provide assistance with basic needs and connections to local resources. Weekly events and activities are also available to help build community connection and support.

Happy Week 4, Beavers! If you're in need of paws-itive stress relief, then we have the event for you! 🐾 This week's Wellness Wednesday spotlight is on the Welcome Waggers Visit The Valley Library event.

Like events with Cedar, this is a great time to de-stress with some furry friends that know exactly how to help you relax. Take a break from cramming for midterms and stop by the library to spend time with trained therapy dogs.
