Time for a faculty spotlight! Dr. Haley Traini has been with the department for five years, where she has been instrumental with the leadership minor. Each term, she teaches leadership classes such as Personal Leadership Development, Team and Organizational Leadership, Leadership Through Conversations, and Leadership Skills for Career Success. Outside of OSU, she enjoys reading historical fiction, thrifting, and exploring Facebook Marketplace.

"My favorite part about OSU is the beautiful campus; the buildings and the landscaping are incredible. I feel inspired by the excellence in teaching and research that takes place here and I love the students. I'd like to shout-out my incredible colleagues and graduate students in my department. The work we do is important and fun, but you bring joy to my life," Traini said.

Drop a 👏 in the comments for this faculty spotlight, Haley Traini.

Our student spotlight for the month is Kendra Jensen. She is from Wahoo, NE, majoring in agricultural sciences with a minor in leadership.

Jensen is heavily involved on campus through her extracurricular activities and work. She is involved in the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow Club, Leadership Academy, and works for University Housing and Dining Services. Outside of school, she enjoys taking her two dogs to Willamette Park, digital painting, and knitting.

In the future, she plans to pursue more schooling in the hope of teaching others how to become effective leaders. She is exploring multiple career paths focused on leadership development.

Her favorite part of OSU is the welcoming community. She enjoys the smiles and waves across campus from the students. She describes Corvallis as “a town with a Midwest attitude but the natural beauty of the West Coast.”

“One piece of advice I offer to future students is to build a community of your own. I encourage others to find moments to pause and connect with the community here on campus to join their journey.”

Congratulations to Kendra Jensen as this month’s student spotlight!
