This talk, presented by Metodi Sotirov, examines how governments and institutions are addressing multi-level policy challenges in forestry and agricultural sectors, with an emphasis on regulations and policy responses in the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, China, Brazil, Indonesia, Vietnam, and countries within the Congo Basin.

Metodi Sotirov is an Associate Professor and Senior Researcher in Forest and Environmental Policy at the University of Freiburg, Germany, whose research focuses on actor-centered policy analysis of transformative change towards biodiversity conservation, climate mitigation and adaptation, and sustainable forest management. Metodi is also a Deputy Coordinator of IUFRO’s Working Party on Integrated Cross-sectoral Policy.

Next Wednesday, join us for a talk from Professor Nagesh Kumar, Director and Chief Executive of the Institute for Studies in Industrial Development of India. He'll be sharing a message titled "Building Effective Research and Practice Partnerships to Align with India’s Sustainable Development Priorities."

The talk will be hosted by Prof. Rajat Panwar of College of Forestry and will be an ideal opportunity for members of the OSU community at large who are interested in collaborating with India on topics relating to that nation's Sustainable Development Goals 🇮🇳

Happy Dam Proud Day Beavs! 🦫

Today, we are celebrating the generosity of our OSU community and we would love if you could show the International Forestry Students' Association some love! IFSA has been working hard to create a warm and accepting international community within the College of Forestry, as well as connecting students with international opportunities. 🌏

Donations to our cause will go towards supporting attendance at the annual symposium in Nigeria this year, as well as supporting student involvement in South Korea in 2027. 🌲
