Congratulations to alumna Metzin Rodriguez on earning a prestigious Fulbright award to the United Kingdom! 🎉

A 2021 BioResource Research graduate, Metzin will pursue a fully funded master’s degree in International Development at the University of Sheffield, where she’ll explore community-based approaches to climate resilience and emergency preparedness. Her work aims to better understand how communities can prepare for and respond to future challenges, with the goal of helping shape stronger, more accessible policies for frontline communities in Oregon. We’re proud to celebrate this exciting achievement and all that lies ahead in her journey!

We are so excited to introduce this year’s CAS graduation celebration speaker, Emily Darchuck!

Emily is an OSU alum, graduating in 2015 with an MS in Food Science and Technology. She is now the founder and CEO of Wheyward Spirits, an innovative spirit company that upcycles underutilized whey. As a food scientist and entrepreneur, Emily has transformed the spirits industry through sustainability and innovation, supporting dairy farmers, reducing food waste, and advancing a more circular food system.
