Georgia Institute of EMS was established with one sole purpose: to educate people about the emergency medical field as quickly and efficiently as possible without compromising their training. In fact, we have the same if not more labs than some 18 month schools but our classes only last a fraction of that time. We understand that people want to get into their career as quickly as possible, but at

the same time we know that what we teach you in this class, you will use on a daily basis on the job so we have to make sure you are learning it. Our classes aren’t easier; in fact our founder has been in the field for over 25 years and has a reputation for being one of the toughest instructors in the area. Couple that with our other instructors’ reputations and experiences in the field and you have a dynamic faculty at your fingertips. However, being in the field ourselves, we know time is critical and that’s where the online classes come in. We understand you may work shifts, you may work nights or days, you may not be physically close enough to drive to a school 3 times a week for months at a time or you may have to work full time while raising a family, but with our system you can learn online and fit it into your schedule. Our system is set up to where whatever time of day it is, rather you have kids sleeping in the next room or you are on a 3 day shift - you can attend GAIEMS. If you have questions, the instructors are just a phone call or email away (or if you’re really having problems with a topic we can set up a meeting and go over it in person with you). Of course you can always talk with us at our labs that you will be attending where we go over, in detail, the skills you will use to save lives and keep you and your partner safe. We also offer Topic Tuesdays, which are lectures on a variety of topics that students and professionals both can benefit from attending. For those already in the field, we offer continuing education, bridge classes and private department classes just for your station. In addition, we also offer ACLS, PALS and CPR Instructor Courses. Georgia Institute of Emergency Medical Services is your training lifeline.

This week we recognize our 9-1-1 telecommunicators who are the link between the public and emergency care. Their voice is the first step in getting EMS on scene and patient care started. #911

The “golden hour” in trauma highlights how important early care is after an injury. EMS providers play a key role in getting patients rapid treatment when it matters most. It is also one of my favorite labs to participate in! Watching the students create their own scenarios while the rest act as providers help our students get ready for anything they may see!
