Stand Out For College

Stand Out For College College Counseling - a unique approach to help students stand out in the college admissions process by developing meaningful community service projects.

We help students with creating their college lists, choosing majors, assist with college applications and the essays that need to be written for admissions. What sets us apart is our focus on helping students create significant and meaningful service projects that help in their community, and provide an opportunity for the student’s personal growth while also showcasing the student’s character. nce most colleges went test-optional for this current admissions cycle, there has been an enormous increase in the number of applications submitted to colleges resulting in the current senior class experiencing record low acceptance rates. Colleges are now announcing their testing policy for applicants submitting in the fall of 2022 and it appears that most schools who went test-optional because of the pandemic will remain so for at least another year. This means that current juniors will face a similar challenging admissions environment next year.

By tomorrow evening, all of the colleges (except Stanford) will have released their admissions decisions.

As you might have heard from the seniors, this is turning out to be the most competitive admissions cycle to date.

This is due to two factors: colleges going test optional and the greater virtual outreach due to the pandemic.

Many colleges (including all of the Ivies) have announced that they will continue to be test optional for current juniors. Additionally, many schools have already announced that they will be test optional for the current sophomores as well.

This means that current high school juniors (and sophomores) will face a similarly challenging admissions environment.

Come join us this Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm to learn about the current admissions environment and how juniors, sophomores and even freshmen can position themselves effectively.

Parents and students are welcome.

There is no charge for this event. To register, visit the library’s website:
