Our MCC Criminal Justice students recently got an inside look at local law enforcement careers. Eighteen students and instructor Mark Krause took a field trip to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office to see the justice system in action.
Students toured a corrections cell block, met with members of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, and spoke with Probation Services Director Seth Krause about how officers support community compliance. They wrapped up the day learning about court administration, meeting with a court interpreter to discuss legal accessibility, and talking with Judge Jennifer L. Johnson about the county's unique mental health, DUI, and drug courts.
Events like these, coordinated with support from our MCC Pathway Coaches, give students firsthand industry exposure and open doors to future internships and job shadowing.
