Last Thursday, March 19th, Dr. Crystal Rhine, Stephanie Howell, and Chrissy Barnhart took some of our animals to the annual Expanding your Horizons event held at Mid Plains Community College in North Platte NE. This is the 5th year in a row we have attended.
This event is held for Junior High Students from around the area, so they can explore different career paths.
Our title was, From Nose to Tail: What it takes to care for animals. We talked about different job opportunities and career paths in the Vet Med profession.
We also talked about NCTA and what we teach here at the college. Most importantly, we took some of our animal ambassadors, and let them do the talking.
It was a fun and great way to spread the word of what we do and who we are!

We are looking to hire a full time Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide compassionate patient care and positive client experiences. We are and remain committed to be a fun and rewarding place to work.

Wachal Pet Health Center has been in West Lincoln area for 30 years. We have a spacious, new, and modern facility with new updated equipment. We are currently a 3 doctor practice with room for growth. We strive to provide a fun, fast paced experience where you can use all of your technical job skills and make a real difference in assisting the veterinarians in complete patient care. Our veterinary technicians are a critical part of our staff working closely and harmoniously with the entire staff!

Experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician is preferred but new graduates of an Accredited Veterinary Technician Program are welcome as well. We are focused on mentoring and are eager to create growth opportunities for our staff. At Wachal Pet Health Center you will be challenged to use a wide variety of your veterinary technician skills.



Job Skills needed but not limited to:

-Patient restraint

-Medicating patients

-Anesthesia induction and monitoring

-Surgical prep

-Dental cleaning/dental x-ray

-Blood draws/IV catheter placement

-Perform common lab test with Abaxis equipment

-Medical records updates/appointment processing with Cornerstone

-Patient x-ray with digital x-ray

-Client communication/interaction in person and on the phone
