The last event of Hispanic Heritage Month sponsored by CHAS was The Colors of Kahlo. SMU students and the community learned to paint like Hispanic artist Frida Kahlo and took their works of art home.

In the midst of a busy week back from Spring Break, doesn't free ice cream sound nice?

Come join us for our ice cream social this Friday at 1 pm! We will be in the third floor of the new Simmons building.

Hey guys!
Hope you all had a great spring break. We are having an ice cream social hosted by the Simmons School of Education and Human Development this Friday March 24th at 1 pm!
Diego Roman, a professor at Simmons, will speak about the programs offered at Simmons. Our VP Liliana Mata and previous CHAS president will also speak about their experience in education.

If you are majoring in education or are interested in hearing more about it, come join us in Harold Simmons Hall room 317!

Just a quick reminder that the Hispanic Alumni Scholarship deadline is THIS FRIDAY April 24 at 5 pm!!

To apply, applicants must meet the following criteria:
· Be at least a rising junior or higher, up to, and including graduate students. (Students who have received this Scholarship in the past are eligible to receive it this year.)
· Be an active member of the SMU College American Hispanic Students (CHAS) organization
P.S. If you are on the roster on orgs, this includes you, even if you weren't able to make all of the meetings or events this semester. If you have been attending, awesome!
· Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.000 or higher
· Demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Office of Financial Aid
· Submit a completed application, including 150-word responses to two short essay questions, by the designated deadline
