Misericordia University Student Success Center The Misericordia University Student Success Center (SSC) enhances learning through our collaborative, compassionate, and personalized approach.

The Misericordia University Student Success Center (SSC) houses the Tutoring and Writing Centers, the Office for Students with Disabilities, academic coaching, and many other programs that help students reach their goals. We seek to empower students through the development of academic and social skills, connection to resources, and the encouragement of self-efficacy. As campus liaisons, we strive

to create an environment that welcomes all, and to develop relationships that promote student persistence and success. Our free services include:

-Small group tutoring in the Tutoring Center
-One-on-One writing conferences in the Writing Center
-Academic coaching, planning and recovery options through individual support, special programs, and workshops
-Access through the Office of Students with Disabilities

The Tutoring and Writing Centers are open to limited services during the Summer sessions, and observe University closures and holidays.
Students have access to online tutoring via Brainfuse - see the instructions for signing into Brainfuse on the myMU Tutoring Center page. Additional requests for peer tutoring may be sent to Matthew Hinton at [email protected] - **Please note that summer peer tutoring sessions are conducted online only, and are dependent on tutor availability.
Information on submitting assignments to the Writing Center can be found by clicking that link from the SSC menu.

The Student SSC is proud to announce that this year's Tutor of the Year is Ava Laukaitis!

Ava, from Flemington, New Jersey, is majoring in SLP. She has been a dedicated peer tutor since Fall 2024, and her continued involvement across multiple courses reflects her strong commitment to student success. Ava's broad academic support makes her an invaluable resource within the SSC, and her willingness to meet with peers when needed highlights how she has helped others reach their academic goals.

Tutor of the Year is awarded annually to a peer tutor whose experience spans multiple diverse subjects (CORE and otherwise) and demonstrates consistent weekly sessions across a considerable number of hours in the academic year. Students considered for this award must have tutored for a minimum of two semesters (or one academic year) in the SSC. In addition to completed training and depth/breadth of subjects tutored, the academic accomplishments of nominees and additional feedback are taken into consideration.
