SMU's first and only country-western dance team! The SMU Mustang Mavericks is Southern Methodist University’s first and only country-western dance team.

Comprised of 10 couples, the team performs at various events on and off campus including talent shows, pep rall

ies, and charity events. The team is currently led by Kyle Mistele and Cara Barcia. If you are interested in joining the team, tryouts occur at the beginning of every semester. Practices are open if you wish to come observe. See the Auditions Page for more information. Mustang Mavericks Open Practices start THIS Tuesday, August 26 🎉

📍 Dedman Rec Center – Mat Room
🗓 Sundays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays
⏰ 8–10 PM
💙 No pressure — open practices are for everyone! Come try it out once, or keep coming back. Auditions are on Sept. 14 and we’ll teach you everything you need to know if you want to audition.

Bring energy, water, and comfy clothes you can move in. Open to all SMU students!
