This a painting I did this Summer titled "Mud Season."

TO ALL MY FELLOW ARTIST, I have found a great new painting support for oil or acrylics. It is Jerry's Art o Ramas DaVinci's Dual Side Pro Panels. They are slick on one side and smooth with a tooth on the other side. That's the side I am nuts about. The way it accepts paint is fabulous. No skips or thin spots, just smooth even brush strokes. They are 1/4" thick and have a heft to them, which I think makes them more impressive. The panels range from 4"x4" to 16"x20". Most of the sizes are square, which is a popular format these days. I am not being compensated for this plug. When I find something like this, I want to share it. Happy painting.

New painting in my expressionist mode. You would never guess the title, "Blue Bear".

It occurred to me that I have a hard time giving myself permission to do nothing. I always feel like I should be accomplishing something every day. I am not a type A person. I don't know if this is programed in me from my days of being employed, or what. Does anyone else feel this way? If I did nothing my Social Security check would still come and my life would be unchanged for the most part. I'd probably go stir crazy. Any thoughts? 🙄

I need some input from by friends and my artist friends in particular. This is a quick painting that I finished this morning. It is 10x8 on canvas board, but that is not important. This is a test of a new style I am working on. I am trying to reach a younger audience. This combines abstraction and bright colors. What do you think? Lay it on me. I want honest input. Thanking you in advance.

I finally finished this one. I added a younger sister and a dog. I named it "Le Fleurs." Since they are French peasant girls from the 1800's.

I have a peace plan for myself. I am recommending it to my followers and friends. I am no longer going to watch the news. I may if something really important happens. There is very little truthfulness in the news today Walter Cronkite is gone. No one today is half as good as Walter. The problem is whether it is national or local the effect is the same. I no longer want to hear about our dishonest politicians. I don't want to hear about Putin or any other megalomaniacs. I get no joy out of seeing our country destroyed by self-serving and evil people. On a local level I don't want to hear about a beautiful 11-year-old girl being dragged out of the Trinity River, or a baby killed by putting it in a hot oven. I have had enough of the actions of our inhumane species. All this information is upsetting and of no value. Why, because you can't do anything about it. The only thing we can do is vote and pray for the world. Which I will continue to do. God Bless all of you. You are always in my prayers as "All my Face Book Friends."

This post probably makes me certifiable. I had painted the sky and clouds on Monday. This morning, I began painting the young French woman from the mid 1800's that is walking her young toddler daughter. I started with her red hair and painted my way down to where I am in the picture just below her waist. As she began to come out of the sky background it was absolutely thrilling for me. I must have had the same rush that a sculptor has when the image he has in his mind begins to emerge from a solid block of marble. It is such an experience. I was almost giddy. I have since finished her and I am working on the baby. My first try on her she came out looking like Danny Devito with red hair. The joy of oil painting is you can take a rag and wipe Danny off the painting since the sky is dry. Tomorrow I will try to make her more petite. With age comes maturity. When I was younger, I would have been all shook up about my dumpy little girl. Now I just chuckle and do it again.

This one of my recent paintings. I have been unable to access my pictures due to a computer virus. So here they come. This was painted by asking an AI generator for a particular scene. I took the image it created and modified it to my taste. I then painted it on canvas using by modified AI creation as a model. It is not traced or slavishly copied from my modified print. The Ai gave me ideas that I had not thought of, plus my own ideas gave me this. I think of AI as expanding my knowledge, kind of like an after burner on my brain. It is titled "Forest Spring". This is an 10x8 inch oil painting on stretched canvas. It is available at a good price.
